Matt Lamprell has joined the senior leadership team at Chilton Primary School in Ramsgate as Assistant Head of School and he is loving every minute and relishing the challenge.
He said: “I am proud and privileged to be working with such fantastic staff and inquisitive children; it has already been brilliant being part of the rewarding process of seeing pupils progress and succeed in a safe and resourceful environment.
“My highly motivated, ambitious and passionate attitude towards teaching and learning ensures that I strive to help every child that walks through the Chilton gate – no one will be left behind.”
Mr Lamprell joined from Napier Primary Academy in Gillingham and sees his involvement at Chilton as an important step in a career that he describes as “enjoyable, rewarding and successful.”
He added: “I have had the pleasure to teach and lead in a range of school environments which have enabled me to contribute to the academic and social development of children.
“I have experienced teaching and leading of both Key Stages across the school, subject curriculum areas such as Maths, PE and PSHE, and in addition, having key roles as Deputy Designated Safeguard Lead and Governor.”
He will have responsibility for be Chilton’s Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (Key Stage 2).
He joins the established leadership team of Head of School Kate Law, who has overall responsibility for all things Chilton and is also part of the Viking Academy Trust leadership; Deputy Head of School Natalie Barrow who has general leadership of quality of teaching and learning / achievement and standards; and Assistant Head of School Hannah Cheshire, who has responsibility for Reception and Years 1 and 2 (Key Stage 1).
Mrs Law said: “Building strength into a leadership team ensures that Chilton continues to deliver the highest quality of education to all of our children.
“This is particularly important after two years of excellent SATs results, with the results for 2018 being the highest that the school has ever achieved.
“Maintaining such excellence is always a challenge but the leadership team heads up a team of very skilled and dedicated teachers, making Chilton an exciting and dynamic school to lead.
“This school year we are also developing middle leaders. It’s important to train and shape school leaders of the future. Making the most of the school’s talent is a focus of our work.”
Chilton Primary School is part of the Viking Academy Trust with Upton Junior School in Broadstairs and Ramsgate Arts Primary School.
