Sixth Form Results 2018

The Royal Harbour Academy is celebrating another excellent set of Sixth Form results for its students. 100% of students who sat the full International Baccalaureate Career Related Certificate passed the

 qualification and 100% of students passed their BTEC qualifications at either diploma or extended diploma level.

There were some excellent individual performances, Jaimie Bligh passed the IBCP gaining D*D*D* in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, a 5 in both English Literature and History and a B grade in his Reflective Project. Jaimie is going on to study Psychology at Southampton. On results day Jaimie said,

“I am extremely happy about my results and relieved that I have everything I need to make the next step towards my future.”

Leah Goldsmith passed the IBCP gaining D*D*D* in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, a 4 in English Literature a 5 in Social and Cultural Anthropology and a B grade in her Reflective Project. Leah has started a teaching apprenticeship at Christ Church C of E Junior Academy School. Leah said,

“I’m surprised at what I have achieved in a short 2 years at Sixth Form. I have worked hard and so happy with the outcome. I am loving my apprenticeship at Christ Church Junior’s and really missing my year 4 class today”.

Joel Helbling passed the IBCP gaining D*DD in BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services. Joel achieved a 6 in ITGS and a 5 in Maths Studies and a B grade in his Reflective Project. Joel is going on to study Computer Science at Kent University. Joel said,

“I’ve had a great Sixth Form experience. There was a rich variety in the subjects covered offering more than expected as I experienced with the SALUS team when volunteering in Margate and other similarly interesting activities. I am very happy with the results I have achieved over the last two years and am thankful for the great support offered by the school both inside and out of lessons. I’m excited about confirming my place at Kent University.”

Ryan Stokes passed the IBCP gaining DM in BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport. Ryan achieved 4 grades in both English Literature and History, and a C grade in his Reflective Project. Ryan is going on to study History and Sport and Exercise Science at Canterbury Christ Church University. Ryan said,

“I am grateful for my entire Sixth Form experience. I am going to miss The Royal Harbour Academy and the Sixth Form life, however, I feel fully equipped and am excited about my next challenge at University.”

‘As in previous years, I am pleased with our student’s continued success with the International Baccalaureate which has enabled them to go on to University and progress in their chosen careers.’

Ollie Donohoe Head of Sixth Form said, “I am incredibly proud of the students and the results they have achieved. Working with the students through their Sixth Form journey, I have seen consistent dedication, resilience and grit to overcome any challenge that they faced. Seeing them all achieve today was a very proud moment for everyone involved.  All of the students have the grades needed to pursue their chosen destination. Whether the students are going to University, starting an apprenticeship or going straight into employment they are equipped with the qualifications and skills to be highly successful post 18.”

Linda Regan, Head of the International Baccalaureate Programme said,

‘I am very proud of all the students who have worked so hard over the past two years and I wish them well in their future.’
