Judging takes place this weekend for the annual Thanet Schools’ Young Artists Art Exhibition. The Exhibition, organised by members of The Rotary Club of Margate, will once again be hosted at Sainsbury’s, near Westwood Cross, from 23rd-28th April.
Since the start of the year, students of all ages, from schools across Thanet, have been busy producing their ‘My Special World’ themed artwork for the exhibition. With hundreds of entries expected, the judges certainly have their work cut out on Saturday as they decide the winners in a number of categories.
The Margate School (TMS) will once again join with The Rotary Club of Margate to give their support to the competition, offering the 21 competition winners across 7 different age groups, the opportunity of an art gallery experience.
From ambition to exhibition, their art work will be professionally framed and exhibited in the new Margate School location in Margate High Street.
Kamilla Blanche will curate a High Street visualisation project entitled “Margate Stories”, connecting local and visiting communities alike with Margate’s High Street through visual exhibits. This will include installing exhibitions into selected buildings in Margate High street.
We’d like to wish everyone who has entered the competition the very best of luck and we can’t wait to visit the Exhibition to see all the fantastic works of art. Eddie the Elephant is hoping to meet some of the Young Artists throughout the week, too.
We’d love to hear from any of the young artists who have submitted work for this year’s exhibition. What inspired you? How will it feel to see your work in an exhibition? Please get in touch.
