News from The Royal Harbour Academy

On Tuesday 12th February The RHA Showtime! Performing Arts students joined up with schools from The Costal Academies Trust to celebrate Music and the Arts at The Winter Gardens in Margate. It was an amazing night with the schools showcasing the wonderful talent that our students have to offer.

RHA Showtime performed two numbers, Eloise sang ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ by Etta James accompanied on the piano by Emelie, which was a pure and enchanting performance. The second number was a Blood Brothers Medley performed by a mix of year 10, 11 and 12 performing arts students, Rachel, Emily, Lara, Cassie, Kamille, George, Morgan, Charlie, Sean, Brooklyn, Cornielle, Sophie, Callum and Jack. This followed the storyline of the award winning musical, Blood Brothers, which is studied both in Drama and English. The students involved captured their audience and took them through an emotional and spell bounding journey.

We also showed off our amazing spirit through our compere Reuben. Miss Young commented:

“I could not be more proud of our Performing Arts students, they never let me down. They work so hard to perfect their skills and performance and are an absolute joy to work with. I could write a paragraph on each student involved about how amazingly talented they are and how each one of them added to the success of the night. They are a credit to our school”.

Thanks to the Royal Harbour Academy for this article, it seemed like such a successful night after you worked so hard.
