On Wednesday 16th October, our Year 5 children were lucky enough to be given a personal tour of Ramsgate Harbour and the London Array offices.

Harbour Master Rob showed us around, letting the children explore the harbour in a way they wouldn’t usually be allowed to do. We were then lucky enough to have the team from London Array give us a tour, showing us how the wind turbines were built, run on a daily basis and discussed with the children what happened with the electricity they produce.

On our visit (as it was a very windy day) enough electricity was being produced to power 1 million houses!

The day ended with a meeting of the Pioneering Places stakeholders in Ramsgate Yacht Club.

The children spoke with them about their favourite part of the project so far and officially announced the artist they had chosen for the next stage of the project, Conrad Shawcross.
