With a team of eleven athletes, Thanet Athletics Club competed in the second round of the Southern Athletics League Division 3 South East, held at Erith on Sunday 20th May 2018.

Gaining a respectable team score of 93 points, many athletes competed in multiple events to help the score tally.

Coaches James Bridge and Stephen Denny competed in three field events each, while Lewis Parsons racked up a staggering five events across track and field. Connor Neal and Will Jennings added to the point tally and the team finished a respectable 3rd in the relay.

Bianca Shuster and Chloe Williams took the field events by storm, competing in a collective seven events, both reaching personal best performances.

Emily Giardina and Lyn Sole also added to the points total with performances in track and field events.

On a very hot day, and with a smaller team than others, Thanet Athletics Club proved that pulling together as a team really pays off.

With 3 more meeting spread out through the summer the club are looking forward to more outstanding performances, and gaining more points towards their standing in the league.
