The textiles club at Christ Church Junior School is run by Mrs Twedell, after school and is offered to anyone who wants to learn.

We meet after school for an hour and a half on a Wednesday or Thursday for upper and lower school.

We make crafts for the season, where we learnt how to stencil and print our Easter designs, for the Summer we created beach bags with a coastal theme and at Christmas we made cards with a fabric image.

So far we have learnt to weave, sew and make pillows. We all enjoy textiles because everyone there is so nice and we always have a great time! Mrs Twedell is always helpful, kind and we all love her.

Maggie (Year 4) said “Textiles is the most fun club.”

If you would like to become one of our Young Reporters, and submit an article to the Edu-Life Kids’ section of our website, please feel free to send us your news story, review, gallery or short story to eddie@educational-life.org

Anyone contributing will automatically become one of our official ‘Young Reporters’ and will have the opportunity to have their content shared in our magazine and on their own dedicated section of our website and Social Media.

We are approaching schools, colleges, youth organisations and sports clubs to find out if they would like to nominate their own ‘correspondents’ to release press statements and keep us informed of the great things they are doing.

In addition, individuals can become ‘freelance’ Young Reporters and report on the topics that interest them. This can be anything from movie reviews and photography to blogs on the latest fads and crazes.
