‘Online Safety Live’ Event at Christ Church Junior School

‘Online Safety Live’ Event at Christ Church Junior School

Christ Church Junior School is the first school in Thanet to hold an Online Safety Live event. This will take place on Thursday 15th March from 9.30-11.30am. At present Christ Church is expecting up to 60 delegates to attend.

This event is being run by SWGFL and The UK Safer Internet Centre. They offer a free 2 hour online safety update.

Online Safety Live is a programme of events designed exclusively for professionals working with children and young people. The 2 hour session will cover a broad range of online safety topics. All delegates will receive access to an online resource area, signposting to sources of help and support, as well as a copy of the Live presentation.

Christ Church Junior School feel it is an important and relevant subject to focus on ; not only for the sake of our children presently attending school, but also to help and support children who will very shortly be embarking on secondary school life. Many parents and teachers are all too aware of the issues of social media and the problems it can bring.

This session will give us all a chance to become more aware of what we can do to support the children with whom we work; and enable local schools to work collaboratively on a focused approach to online safety.

We look forward to letting you know how it goes.
