No Barriers for Harriers as Stagecoach Steps In
Herne Bay Harriers under 11s squad will ditch their ragtag strip and march out in a smart new kit thanks to local bus firm Stagecoach.
The team started playing their first season of nine-a-side competitive matches last month. Club chairman, Pete Tait said “It’s been a challenge for the boys to play as part of a larger team under the off-side rule.
They’ve done a great job adapting to that and they’ve already got one win under their belt. Unfortunately, they had quite an old kit to begin with, so we’re delighted that Stagecoach has stepped as sponsors this season.”
Danny Buga, whose son Kyle is the team’s goalkeeper, has been a bus driver and Revenue Inspector at Stagecoach for ten years.
He became involved with the Harriers when his son Kyle started playing last year. “I knew the team needed a sponsor and I thought that maybe Stagecoach could help in some way. I was thrilled when I heard that they would sponsor the full kit including kit bags and away strip.”
Local Stagecoach bus manager, Daniel Millis said “As a major public service provider we believe that supporting our local community is extremely important.
Our own staff put a great deal of effort into supporting local charities and good causes, so when Danny told us that the squad were looking for a sponsor to fund a new kit, we jumped at the chance.”
