One inspirational young Year 5 pupil from Newington Community Primary School has bravely decided to have her beautiful long hair chopped off for charity. Having grown her hair since birth, Summer- Louise is having her long golden locks cut for ‘Little Princess Trust’.
Little Princess Trust provide real hair wigs, free of charge, to children across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment. They also assist children with other conditions which also result in hair loss, the most common being alopecia. The charity works with specialist suppliers and experienced hairdressers who offer wigs tailored to the individual child’s needs to give the most realistic look and feel, as close as possible to their original hair. In addition to supplying the real hair wigs, Little Princess Trust also, in partnership with CCLG (Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group), fund research into childhood cancers.
We became aware of this fantastic charity fundraiser when Newington CPS posted a link on their Facebook page. The original post had a quote from Summer-Louise’s mum which read …
“She has decided to have her long blonde locks cut and donate it to the charity along with any money she manages to raise. She has already raised £205 from friends and family via just giving and thought u would like to know what she is doing and maybe spread the word and help her to raise as much as possible. Anything will be grateful. She is having her hair cut at home on the 12th February and I will be filming and taking pictures. I am very proud of her and hope others will be too.”
Thank you so much to Newington CPS for allowing us to share this information, and a MASSIVE Edu-Life ‘Thank You’ to Summer-Louise for this fantastic fund-raising gesture … you’re a star.
