Peer Mediators On Hand To Help Pupils

News from Chilton Primary School A pioneering peer mediation scheme run by pupils is underway at Chilton Primary School in Ramsgate. The initiative was launched at the start of this term when the 12 trained peer mediators from Year 5 were introduced to the school at a special assembly. Two members of the team are on call on a duty rota system to cover the playground each day. Kent Event Centre and Kent County Show Team Win Emergency Planning and Partnership Award from the NHS

  The Kent Event Centre and Kent County Show Team have been awarded the Emergency Planning and Partnership Award for 2017 from the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. The award recognises excellence in event planning and partnership with the NHS to avoid hospital admissions from events held at the Kent Showground. Through careful planning and provision of adequate medical cover, the Kent County Show Team were able to keep hospital admissions from their biggest event, the Kent County Show, to a minimum. Fact Finding Success

The joint council of Viking Academy Trust pupils from Upton Junior, Chilton Primary and Ramsgate Arts Primary have been on an educational fact-finding tour. The representatives toured Chilton Primary at Ramsgate in small groups, armed with clipboards and taking notes of what they really liked about the school, what they felt would benefit the other schools, and what they thought could be improved. Getting Into the Groove at RAPS

The beat goes on – pupils at Ramsgate Arts Primary School are getting into the groove exploring a wide range of music in their lessons. In addition to their usual curriculum, they have joined in a series of workshops with BTec Music students from East Kent College at Broadstairs. RAPS pupils discovered a range of different percussion styles and time signatures playing African djembes, tambourines, hand drums and shakers.
