Tasty French Cuisine on the Menu

“C’est bon!” That’s the verdict from young diners following a special French menu for their lunchtime meal at Newington Community Primary School, Ramsgate. The resounding ‘oui’ from pupils and staff was given to the nutritious food prepared and served by kitchen team who created a range of French-inspired delights. These included the country’s traditional fare like chicken chasseur and boeuf bourguignon. Inspirational Champions of Courage

Children at Chilton Primary School in Ramsgate are inspired by men and women who have demonstrated different types of courage against the odds. Pupils across the school have been researching the life stories behind a whole range of determined individuals for whom courage was a by-word. Each year group from Year 1 to 5 explored a different Champion of Courage, learnt about their background and the way they faced their own adversity, and then wrote about them in the role of that person. Performance Poetry Inspires Pupils

Poetry has been brought to life on stage with a special performance by children at Upton Junior School in Broadstairs. The Year 5 group have been inspired by a diverse range of poets who they have explored as part of their literacy learning since the start of this year. They include poetry from Spike Milligan, Pam Ayers, Michael Rosen, Brian Todd, Lewis Carroll and Gareth Lancaster.
