SMS Coaches Triumph At Charity Football Tournament

The youngsters swapped places with their parents this morning as the adults donned the football kits to challenge managers and coaches from SMS Football Club in a thrilling Christmas Charity Football Tournament. Four teams competed for the impressively large SMS Trophy (SMS were clearly confident it would stay in their hands) in a series of twenty minute round robin games. A retelling of a classic thrills a packed audience at Newington Community Primary School

It just wouldn’t be the run up to Christmas without Mince Pies and a good Pantomime, and both were on offer in abundance this morning at Newington Community Primary School. New Gym Receives Mayoral Seal Of Approval

A new gym was officially opened today by Ramsgate Town Mayor, Trevor Shonk. The Gym Group’s newest facility, situated next to the Saga building near Westwood Cross,  officially opened its doors to members at midday with a customary ribbon cutting. I had a sneaky look around the impressive facilities with Mr Shonk and Gym Group staff prior to the Grand Opening and was really impressed. St Ethelbert’s Governors Hit The Mark

Thanet South MP, Craig Mackinlay, visited Staff and Governors at St Ethelbert’s Catholic Primary School this morning to present them with the prestigious Governor Mark certificate. The award of Governor Mark is a National award to show that school governing bodies are ‘outstanding’ in their governorship of a school. There are 5 criteria areas to pass with a huge variety of evidence to be proved. The Areas are: Organisation and Teamwork Recruitment and Retention Strategic Governor Leadership Strengths/weaknesses Self-Review/Innovation and Change Support and challenge. Clean Sweep For Dane Court In Sportshall Athletics

A combined Sportshall Athletics Tournament took place at Ursuline College on Wednesday afternoon with schools from Thanet and Dover competing for spots in the Kent School Games Finals next summer. The third in a series of Sportshall Athletics events held at Ursuline College over the past month, this was the turn of the year 7 and 8 teams to compete in a variety of indoor athletics events including Shot Put, Standing long and triple jumps, speed bounce and a range of relay races.
